English Language Arts & LRC
Welcome to the English & LRC Page of Community High School District 218. The English Department strives to provide challenging and rewarding courses for all students and focuses on instruction in writing analytically, argumentatively, and informatively; we also concentrate on developing students' skills in the analysis of literary fiction and nonfiction. The English Department also offers a host of electives from Writing for Newspaper and Writing for Yearbook to a variety of different courses for senior students developed around topics such as African-American Literature, Best-Selling Novels, and Film and Literature. Our teachers work hard to include all of our students into the long-running and on-going Conversation of human thought and culture.
