Express shines on Channel 7

Last week, the Eisenhower show choir, Express, performed beautifully on the Channel 7 morning news.  Selected as one of just four groups to compete in the Show Choir ShowDown, the Cardinals delivered in memorable fashion.  Congratulations to choral director Tina Jacklin and Express on an amazing achievement.  Here, students watch a television monitor as Channel 7 shows a recorded rehearsal and interviews with Ms. Jacklin and Express.

NHS hosts dinner theater for seniors

Many thanks to faculty sponsor Dorothy Groff and National Honor Society for hosting another successful dinner theater event for the Oak Lawn Senior Citizen Center last Thursday.  NHS students decorated the cafeteria and served a wonderful meal before the seniors watched 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee' directed by Kaitlin Fleharty (stage) and Brian Lonergan (music).  Special thanks to culinary arts teacher Rob Staudacher and his students for making the desserts.

NOVA delivers on Channel 7

In the long, rich history of music education at Shepard, few experiences match watcing NOVA perform live on the Channel 7 morning news last week.  Selected as one of four groups to compete in the Show Choir ShowDown, NOVA delivered their usual inspiring performance.  Congratulations to choral director Michael Fallon and his talented students on an amazing achievement.  Chicago learned what we already knew: NOVA ranks with the best.
